Illumination

      Where love and affection converge
                                                  that is you

      Where art and perfection converge
                                                  that is you

      Where fun and dedication converge
                                                  that is you

      Where friends and relation converge
                                                   that is you

      Where hope and realization converge
                                                   that is you

      Where honesty and illumination converge
                                                   that is you

(This is for someone who constantly illuminates us like her name)

Valentine's Day

Thunder, rain, ice or snow
With your company, I never feel low

Diamonds, jewels or gold
With your smile, I never feel old

Chocolates, cake or wine,
With your affection, my life is always sunshine

Red, pink or gray
With your love, every day is Valentine's day

Happy Valentine's Day All

Delhi My Friend :

Author's note:- This is based on my recent trip to Delhi, a city I spent all my life in India and I loved a lot. But it has changed a lot now.

Math and Life

In computing square roots and under rootsIMG_2839

Maybe we lost our roots

In solving exponents and quadratic equations

Maybe we missed out on festive occasions

In defining variables and algebraic expressions

Maybe we distorted friendship and impressions

In learning integration and differentiation

Maybe we ignored integrity and association

In calculating margins and discounts on deals

Maybe we discounted values and meals

PS: - These lines are dedicated to money minded selfish people of the world.

India and Pakistan

IMG_9780

It is time to bridge to the other piece,

It is time to ask and preserve peace

It is time to farewell firearms competition

It is time to open arms to form a coalition

It is time to end senseless hatred and destruction

It is time to mend path for dialog and construction

It is time to extinguish and throw away ammunition

It is time to distinguish and create a new definition

It is time to displace anxiety and tears

It is time to embrace nears and dears

It is time to diffuse landmines and bombs

It is time to introduce truce and say salaams

Aren’t we tired of hearing death and grief?

Is not it time for humanity and belief?

Wonder who gains pleasure from killing

Is not material and spiritual growth fulfilling?

Author’s Note: The thought of this article came to my mind while visiting Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is a tourist attraction on the border of the USA and Canada. It attracts thousands of visitors every month and generates millions of dollars of revenue and provides employment for many. Kashmir, supposedly heaven on the earth, is probably one of the most unsafe places on earth. Imagine if India and Pakistan can start living peacefully and solve Kashmir problem. Only if! What do you think?

Is there me? Free me!

Beyond waking and sleeping,

Is there me, free me!

Beyond repeating and competing,

Is there me, free me!

Beyond ambition and aspiration,

Is there me, free me!

Beyond admiration and inspiration

Is there me, free me!

Beyond tradition and submission,

Is there me, free me!

Beyond reforms and norms,

Is there me, free me!

Beyond dignity and trinity

Is there me, free me!

Beyond colors and discolors

Is there me, free me!

Beyond religion and reason,

Is there me, free me!

Am I an ocean?

Am I a drop in an ocean?

Maybe I am a drop that strives to split from the ocean?

To be free, to be free me!

Dear Readers:- It is another attempt to scribble rhyming words that we call poem. Can you guess my state of mind?

A change to believe

A change to achieve

A change with a new right

A change to conquer a new height

A change builds a new path

A new path with new light

A new hope for future to be bright

A new wish to succeed with no strife

A new beginning to find a new life

Wedding Anniversary

Jan 8 marks my wedding anniversary and someone asked for how long I have been married. My honest reply:

Sometimes it feels like years

Sometimes it feels like seconds

Sometimes it feels like forever

Sometimes it feels like an instant

Let a timepiece count my hours with her

Let a calendar add up my years with her

I share joy and sorrow with her

I cherish moments of love with her

I relish everlasting bond with her

I treasure my life with her

Do number of years matter? What do you think?

PS: During my European trip, captured some pictures of unknown couples on their wedding day. I posted them on my Facebook page.

Fall Colors

Fall Picture

Falling leaves whisper in my ears

Let help and hope conquer fears

Colorful mosaic touches my heart

Telling life is pain and pleasure in part

Cool breeze jolts my soul

Altering essence to embrace a new goal

In days the trees would be naked and mute

Yet the stem has strength in the grounded root

Dear Readers:- As you know I am not a poet but I tried to capture my current state of mind. Can you guess that?

A New Sun

IMG_3229_MA new sun

A new day

A new light

A new beginning

A new thought

A new hope

Hope to change

Hope to achieve

Hope to win

Hope to shine

Hope to live

Live to learn

Live to love

Live to serve

Live to create

Live to laugh

(For photo enthusiasts: For this picture, I used Aperture Priority, F/22 aperture with speed 1/500. Later someone told me I could have spoiled sensor of my camera by directly pointing at sun. Also my eyes were hurting for sometimes after I took similar shots)

Variation with Words

(A very talented fellow blogger Jyothi posted a beautiful poem (To a wonderful dream). By varying just a few words, here is an attempt to create another meaning and posted with permission of Jyothi)

Love that is fulfilled without a single word
Love that brings in more joy than pain
Love that lasts till eternity

The love left behind in the sands of time!

Love that stood the test of time,
Love that so true that the world seems a lie
Love that goes away, yet manages to stay

The love I lost!

Souls that dwell as one in the cosmic world
Made for each other pair
Hearts that long for each other

The broken hearts that the world sees but does not feel!

Yet beats in my heart your heartbeat
Yet each breath reminds of you
Yet each moment longing to be in your arms
Yet each moment shedding a tear for you

A broken dream I wish was not real!

She..

(This short poem is dedicated to a very special person who celebrates her birthday this week on the 3rd)

She is the reason for my life’s bash
She is all four seasons in a flash

In a moment, she is a mid Indian summer heat
With just a smile, she is a sweet spring treat
In a moment, she is a winter night freeze
With just an embrace, she is an amazing autumn breeze

She serves society with selfless passion
She builds family with total devotion
She makes home with artistic perfection
She is committed to me beyond affection

She has the most beautiful heart
My heart beats with her heart

She is a friend
She is a companion
She is the only one in my life,
She is my wonderful …

(Dear Readers: All of you can guess the last word but can Hindi speaking readers guess her name? The literal translation of her name appears in the poem and starts with ऋ .)

Autumn Has Arrived

The wind whispers as I walk through the red falling leaves

The air is cool

The days are dark but divine

The sound of dancing leaves breaks the silence of the surroundings

And that I know autumn is here

Dear Readers, can you make a guess where and when I took this picture.

My Mom is....

My daughter wrote this poem for her mom. She dedicates this poem to all mothers of the world.

“My Mom is……”

My mom is a school
Teaching me the values
Of life.

My mom is a fortress
Protecting me from
All dangers.

My mom is a vacuum cleaner
Always cleaning up
My mess.

My mom is medicine
Always curing
My sickness.

My mom is a magician
Always keeping me
Entertained.

My mom is the sun
Always giving
A ray of hope.

My mom is rain
Washing away
My sorrows.

My mom is magnificent. She makes my miracles come true.
She is the reason for my existence.
My mom is my hero.

Happy Mother’s Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Friends are...."

This short poem is written by my daughter.

Friends are the music that turn
Your sad face into
A smile

Friends are your old stuffed animal
That you never get
Tired of

Friends are a comedy movie
That makes you laugh
Day or night

Friends are your stars
Supporting and sorting the significance of you
They are special and surprising
