I hear spring is beautiful with flowers bloom
But why do I vouch sorrow and gloom
I hear days are sunny and bright
But why do I see ghost and no light
I hear nights are fun and charming
But why do I feel pain and suffering
I hear life is full of joy and cheers
But why do I find fear and tears
I hear life is a love stage
But why do I sense anger and rage
I hear man’s intellect and power are limitless
But why do I think man is tormented and helpless
I hear GOD is just and right
But why can’t HE understand people’s plight
But why...
Author's Note:- In Spring of 2010, while posting a picture of a flower, I could not take my mind away from victims of Haiti and Chile earthquake. Fast forward one year, disturbing scenes of Japan earthquake and tsunami are hard to let go and I dropped the idea of posting a Spring picture completely. Though have not been inside, I have seen glimpses of Japan's landscape from plane’s window while flying through Tokyo airport. The landscape looked beautiful.
While the world watches issues with the nuclear reactors, this week (March 14) also marks birthday of famous scientist Albert Einstein who wrote to President Roosevelt recommending atomic bomb research as he thought Germans might have been doing the same.

I have been to/stayed in japan. learnt japanese and shiatsu there.
It is actually very sad- what has happened.
You have written it so well.
It is pretty scary and disturbing. Wonder what propels Mother Nature to create such disasters. God bless the souls in Japan.
I pray for the people who have lost so much ... I hope the country gets back on its feet soon ... Mother Nature please be kind!

time and again, we are reminded how trivial and helpless we are; nature's fury has no bounds.
Its disturbing to see those visuals.
That's such a touching poem, Amrit ji. I have figured out one thing from experience - that there are no answers to any 'why's' of the whole wide world.
during 2004 Tsunami my mother and my two sisters were there in Anadamans islands, it was only about 36 hours later i could get the information that they were safe....
i can very well imagine the situation people at Japan are facing.... i just pray n hope there is no further damage from Nuclear Plants....
Totally agree with what insignia has said...hope the ppl of Japan get the strength to overcome this crisis.
Hmmm I strongly oppose your last line. He always understand and listen our prayers, but He has His own reasons and methods that we can not understand. So its offensive to say anything to God that shows any fault or diminish His dignity in any way... We all are His creations and He is always Just whatever He do, kill us distrorey us. :)
Stay Blessed
We all have to pay for the anger of Mother Earth, only when we learn to respect her will she be able to forgive us and be good to us. The question is are we prepared to do such a small thing as to treat our Mother with the love and respect she deserves?
Our prayers are with the people of Japan.
Read first few lines and guessed it was about natures fury unleashed on Japan...feel sad and helpless.
A heart wrenching poem- did you write this a year ago or during the recent Japanese catastrophe? I have so many friends in Japan - everything which has happened (and is still happening) is just mind boggling.
Such a touching poem, A. And so very rightly put. And so true ... why?
I guess GOD knows it all and he can only answer the WHY..
Bikram's
I wish there were answers for all the "why's" in the world. Nature's fury unleashed! Shows how helpless humans really are!
Nice poetry.
Pretty late here,Had taken a break...What has happened and happening in Japan is sad. It is as if another bomb has exploded
A very fitting post. Awful to think that another such disaster has occured.
nice poem
But why do I see ghost and no light
Good questions A! But as Bikramjit points out we hardly have the answers.
It was only a year ago my brother and a friend's family decided to move out of Japan. Their friends in Japan have been safe through this ordeal.
My heart goes out to the other families who weren't.
The more human being think they are supreme, God keeps showing who is....
Destination Infinity
It's a terrible thing that happened hopefully there would not be complete meltdown in the nuclear reactors
Any amount of technological advancements can not help in such situations.
One feels sorry for whatever has happened in Japan.
The footage they are showing is scary..My heart goes out to the victims.
.
Instead of commenting on Tsunami , I choose to comment on the beautiful question in every second line of this creation . We all are living in some kind of fear , that forces us to see the darker aspects of life. It is true with majority of people around . But I feel , one must move on in life. Life is too short . Lets enjoy it fully .
Pondering and brooding drains me.
By the way its a lovely creation . May God be with Tsunami victims.
Regards,
.
Beautiful poem! It is hard to look at flowers budding when one sees on screen images that are so destructive. Why do these things happen you ask - well, its karma - and life is infinite, doesn't end with death.
The unfortunate event has affected all over the world.. lets pray..
Cheers,
That's fate!!
Its such a disturbing news for every one..
its very touch...my heart goes out..gfor those families and people!
its disturbing like a nightmare...
your poems explains it soo..well!
God bless!
it is sad indeed and yes, some WHY'S would perhaps never be answered..just to be suffered!
may all be well there again and spring quietly but surely tip toes its way back
you said my mind...The images were so disturbing that I could not bring myself to write even a single line about it...
It also made me realize that we are nothing... all the plans, wealth and hours of effort can disappear any moment from our life. The only thing I have decided I can do is help others when ever I could and hope that their prayers will guide and help me .....
Your poem is very beautiful. Indeed, it is very disturbing to see such devastation. When, I see the images of cars, ships being just swept aside like toys and so much destruction, it makes me wonder about the futility of life. We, the superior human beings, plan and evolve amazing gadgets, but when nature unleashes its fury everything is snuffed out in an instance. How very sad!
Beautifully written.
There is no justice in this world. There is no end to man's ego and pride. And nature in its fury, gives us lessons to remind us how flimsy we are.

Worrying or pondering over has never helped me. These incidents remind us on how flaky life can be and live life to the fullest.
