Autumn Has Arrived

The wind whispers as I walk through the red falling leaves

The air is cool

The days are dark but divine

The sound of dancing leaves breaks the silence of the surroundings

And that I know autumn is here

Dear Readers, can you make a guess where and when I took this picture.

I love autumn in the US. Those bright red, flaming orange, subtle green, pale yellow of the birch, aspen, maples, oaks and sumacs are treat to the eyes.

I so wished I was there this year as well, my eyes cant get enough. Did you click this picture in Raleigh?

So Autumn has only arrived?! It feels like winter already...

To guess the beautiful picture location, it is your home street.

Nice picture with beautiful fall color shade..since last week colors are nicely catching around...but due to less rain many trees are showing unhealthy color change..I am waiting for highway sides to pick fall shades.It is beautiful to drive around city.

It is very difficult to guess picture because just tree and fence, nothing else is visible..spot must be pretty close to your home.

Did you capture this picture evening time while driving ?

@All,

As the schools are closed in the USA today because of Veteran's day, I took a day off. Enjoyed with my daughter and wrote this short post as spent most of the time outside and then doing some office work - even on off day.

@Rama,

Thanks !

@Insignia,

Yes. Autumn is pretty here. We are in south so it arrives late here but today was beautiful day.

@Kiran,

Thanks. Not a difficult guess, trust me.

@NIRGirl,

Thanks. It is not my home street.

@Usha,

Thanks. Sometimes I take good pictures. I took this picture in the morning. Define close to home...50/25 miles.

@SM,

Thanks. It is real treat.

@Stranger,

Thanks. It is not close to park.

@Raji,

Everything I wrote there actually happened when we were taking the picture. Poetry in the air.

Beautiful beautiful. I love autumn (more now that I finally have a coat) and this picture captures is perfectly. I imagine it was taken close to where you live? But it certainly reminds me of Canada!

Such an appropriate choose of verse for this time of year - you really do write well. As for where the photo was taken? You have me beaten on this one. Could it be somewhere in England? I'm only guessing that the fact you use autumn instead of Fall might be a clue.

For readers interested in the answer:-

It is a street close to my house. I walk on this street all the time. We have library, Tennis court and two schools on the same street.

The picture I published in March 'Scenic Street', that was also at the same street.

It is good to have the seasons. The place where I live,it is all the same bleak and barren,depressing desert. Colors do affect our moods.Autumn has the luxurious warmth of gold and amber, and leaves the colors in your mind,for the cold and colorless winter days.

It's lovely. And you have already mentioned the place in the comments! Was moving from one random blog to another. And am glad I did! :)

I love Autumn too. Though we cannot see its true colors in Texas. I would say it is taken somewhere in Cary/Raleigh.

Looks like I missed you during Autumn and caught you and your blogs in the mid of winter. Hope all is well. Nice picture and a very nice poem.
