At a broader level people of India continue to wait for security, law and order. Clear exposure of vulnerability to terrorist attacks, wide spread media coverage, numerous victims and bravery stories of 26/11 attack did not appear to change the mechanism to protect the citizens. With the attack of this size, one would imagine a fundamental shift in handling terrorism, focused & proactive approach to come up with a series of changes in policies, and implementation of strict law maintenance procedures. However it seems like asking for protection from internal and external terrorists is a wrong expectation from government machinery. Some terrorist acts since Nov 26, 2008:
- 13 February 2010, Pune, 14 killed, 60 injured
- 7 December 2010, Varanasi, 2 killed, 37 injured
- 13 July 2011, Mumbai, 26 killed, 130 injured
- 7 September 2011, Delhi, 12 killed, 76 injured
Terrorists continue to slaughter innocent, average hard working men and women while politicians are busy with scams and corruption.

Nope .. as long as we have this dirty poitcians there will be no end .. FUNNY thing in in all these attacks its never a VIP who dies.. or They never occur near a MP or a politician..
When one of these die only then something will happen, I wonder if its the politicians themselves who are Getting this done each time there is a scam that happens or elections are near the corner..
We cant be very sure of our leaders they can do anything and this is quite common othetrwise how come not a single politician is ever hurt ..

We are a great nation unfortunately lacking enough political strength to take us forward. Every one forgets that politics is not just flaunting king size egos or one- upmanship. It is an institution to ensure better the governance- infrastructure, law and order, education, health and social welfare- to the people.

Corruption and greed are everywhere. Problems faced at one place are slightly different from the problems faced at other places. It is the will to get through them, that matters. Where ever one is.

I am with Bikram too on this issue. Its all a game. Part of a political game. Corruption and greediness will never end as long as there are loopholes in our system. An intelligent crop of youngsters is required to revamp the entire system in India. The ideology that with age comes experience should be replaced with "young minds form a vision". Unfortunately the young too are being reeled in by the old crop into the hypocrisy that is India.

A, I see no end..every passing year Terrorist organizations/operations have grown more stronger because Govt has failed to crack down their existence. Internal and border security need drastic changes..stronger intelligence network will help to defeat terrorist targets. It is too complicated. Any terrorist who aim to kill humans and cause infrastructure destruction need not exist in this world. Thanks for making post in memory of Mumbai terror attack.
Each and every politicians in our country are corrupted and unless and until some of them are victimized in terrorist attack proper security will not be taken. Regarding Kasab he has not been hanged and if it had been other country Kasab would not have been alive still after 3 years of the attack where Kasab killed hundreds of innocent people. Very well written.

A... I think there are two things to this. One, that we have short memory spans, and we think WE will never have to go through one of those harrowing experiences. Two, it is easier to destruct than to construct - what I mean is, it takes only a tiny lapse for a terrorist without any heed for his own kife, or the lives of others, to create havoc. And that lapse can happen in any country - as the US discovered too...
I am in no way condoning the laxity of our security systems... (I am a hotelier, and have lost a good friend in the attack, and am still to come to terms with it.) but just stating that it is a fas easier job for the people who are trained to destroy, than it is for tose who set out to protect it.

Every time we rescue a child in conflict with law (mostly for petty theft of course) and finally send him to the observation home, I always tell myself, "will the politicians ever be punished for all the huge scams and corruption?"
nobody can forget that massacre. Live close to the Taj where the terror attacks took place. those 3 days were a nightmare.
